Care instructions for diving equipment

Care instructions for diving equipment: How to keep your equipment in top condition

Diving equipment is constantly exposed to salt water, chlorine, and sunscreen. To ensure the longevity of your dive shirts, wetsuits, and other gear, you should follow some basic care instructions:

1. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water

After every dive, your equipment should be rinsed with clean freshwater to remove salt and chlorine deposits. Avoid using aggressive cleaning agents.

2. Clean gently

Wetsuits and rash guards: Hand wash with mild detergent or special neoprene cleaner.

Dive shirts made of cotton or polyester: Gentle wash at a maximum of 30°C with mild detergent. No fabric softener!

3. Dry properly

Wetsuits: Turn inside out and hang in a shady, well-ventilated place.

Diving shirts: Air dry, do not tumble dry to protect the material.

4. Storage

Store wetsuits hanging on a wide hanger.

Store shirts folded or on a hanger in a dry place.

Avoid direct sunlight and extreme heat.

5. Avoiding damage

Put on wetsuits carefully to avoid tears.

Avoid contact with sharp objects such as Velcro fasteners or rough surfaces.

6. Regular inspection

Check your gear regularly for wear, especially around the seams and zippers. Minor tears or holes in the neoprene can be repaired with special neoprene glue.

Conclusion

With proper care, your diving gear will stay functional and comfortable for longer, allowing you to fully concentrate on your underwater adventures!
